- Update
Drew has been very busy...he continues to work on the acoustic
album, but has had a number of other projects vying for his time. He is currently
working on background vocals for a number of cuts on Lee Ann Womacks upcoming
release. He also just returned from a taping of the critically-acclaimed PBS series
Soundstages with Lee Ann in Chicago on June 1. The episode will air on PBS later
in the summer. Congratulations are in order for Jens Pinkernell, Drews lead
guitar for the full band shows over the last couple of years, and his beautiful
bride, Stephanie. Drew had the honor of performing at the ceremony and later taking
the stage for a full band set.

DALLAS MORNING NEWS REVIEW Without question, Drew
Womacks self-titled solo debut album goes down as one of the most underrated
Texas country releases of last year. The former lead singer of Waco-formed Sons
of the Desert took his knack for melodic country songwriting, stripped it of Nashvilles
slick sheen and added a few more acoustic and soulful instruments to craft a winning
record that gets better with each listen. Among the best tracks: "Hey Daisy,"
"Any Love at All," "Premium Gasoline" and the stunning ballad
"Melancholy Cafe." In concert, Mr. Womack and his band put on an energetic,
always tuneful show. And yes, he does dig up a hit or two from his days with Sons
of the Desert.
